Your information works wonderfully, UNTIL…30 days pass and xp deactivates. What am I doing incorrectly? I’d like to activate my program permanently. I’ve tried to activate through Microsoft, and get no where. As for keys: there’s product keys, activation keys, cd keys, and other names alluding to keys. I just want to activate my xp.
Thx.

this is a 29day fix, as the above comments are correct, it will get you in a loop where it will ask you for activation, then tell you you are activated, once the month is up, you will be ‘locked’ out of your system. please refrain from posting “this works great” until you have used this process and had success after 30days, if you have please post exactly what you did, I would love to know.

Hey, I need a fix on what to do after the 30 day period. When I start up, I now get a message saying I have 6 days left to activate. I click ok, and it says it’s activated, and then I’m at my desktop as usual.
I’m concerned as to what I should do at this point. Any help?

I think Microsoft has clock on to this crack hack whatever you want to call it, my system is activated but wont log me on. Followed the procedure above and without any joy.
[Reply]
I’m stuck in the loop. Is it too late to do the winlogon.exe trick? And does it really work?
[Reply]
I’m looking for a fix for the loop as well.
Just to confirm:
Replacing winlogon.exe DOES NOT WORK anymore.
Neither does replacing userinit.exe or logonui.exe.
I’m going to keep working on this one, open to any suggestions!

Umm… this modification only removes the reminder. If you want to get past the activation screen, then press WindowsKey+u to open narrator. Then go to the “Microsoft Help Site” for Internet Access. As if internet wasn’t enough, you can go to Narrator’s help page whatever its called and click on its icon at the top left. A menu should come up. Now click “Jump to URL…” and on the bottom text box type “c:\” then go find your explorer.exe file. On Windows Xp, it will continue to shut itself down but it works on Vista. Just dont close the activation window no matter how annoying it is. . NOTE: I AM NOT ENCOURAGING PIRACY NOR DO I ENGAGE IN ACTS OF PIRACY. I AM SIMPLY INFORMING YOU OF A WAY OF GETTING AROUND THE EXPIRATION PROCESS.

-facepalm-
If I would’ve know this just dissabled the reminder I wouldn’t of even done any of this, I’d rather have that thing counting down the days and not get all suprised when I woke up and it said I have 7 days remaining…
Please, any information on how to activate it permanently, I type in the right product key from the sticker on the side of the CPU and says it’s invalid… what do I do? What can be done?
[Reply]
ok so i started to do this and i got as far as “denying full control” when i read all these messages about the computer going into a loop so i shat myself and started to work backwards to undo what i had done (luckily i had wrote down exactly what it said in the “OOBETimer”). Then when i went to “activate windows” to make sure it said “Windows is already activated” even though everything is exactly the same as before? Please tell me the loop thing isnt true or that it only happens to a small amount of ppl who do this cause my da is gonna be ragin. :(
[Reply]
Thank you very much. It works greetly. I were simply helpless
[Reply]
Very nice, but i am using windows XP Pro RETAIL. THIS DOES *NOT* WORK. It just makes no difference at all, i’m still locked out.
P.S. i can’t read the characters at the bottom of your website.
[Reply]
I would also just like to add that this “workaround” for me does cause the vicious circle behaviour where it asks for a product key and then when you click to add one it says that it’s already added. The most serious problem with this work around is that when you get to this stage you are also locked out of windows safe mode too, which means you have no way *whatsoever* of getting in to windows xp.
Which leaves you in a bit of pickle. The workaround appears to work because all it does is prevent you from being bombarded with popups about how illegal your windows installation is. When the 30 days are expired that’s when the trouble starts with this workaround.
We need a new workaround which works after the 30 days expire, because in the first 30 days, a workaround isn’t necessary because it lets you in anyway.
